During the day, electricity generated by your solar panels is first used to power your home. Any surplus energy is stored in the GivEnergy battery rather than being exported to the grid.
In the evening or during peak tariff periods, your home draws power from the battery instead of buying electricity at higher prices. When combined with smart tariffs, the system can also charge from the grid overnight when rates are lower.
