Solar Hot Water Systems convert light into heat, which in turn creates hot water for your home.

Utilising the sun's rays, they help reduce our consumption of conventional fossil fuels and reduce emissions of harmful CO2 gases. Solar Hot Water Systems make sense on both financial and environmental levels.

You can create up to 70% of your property's annual hot water requirements and receive grants of up to £400 towards the installation cost of a solar thermal hot water system.

Solar Electric Systems, or Photovoltaic (PV) Systems, use the sun’s energy to convert solar radiation into electricity.

PV is distinct from other kinds of solar energy in that it harnesses the sun's light, rather than its heat therefore making it suitable for our Northern hemisphere.

By utilising the Feed In Tariff, you can use a PV system to not only cut your electricity bills, but to also pay you money back for ALL the electricity your system produces at a fixed rate of 41.3 pence per unit guaranteed for 25 years.

This means that a standard 2.035 kWh system would realise income and savings of over £900 per year and would pay for itself in less that 10 years.

The Feed In Tariff (FIT) is a scheme designed to reward customers who invest in a Solar Electric PV System.

The Government has set in stone a 25 year payment plan paying 41.3 pence per kiloWatt for ALL electricity that your system produces, even if you use all that electricity yourself.

This agreed rate of 41.3 pence per kiloWatt is guaranteed for 25 years AND index linked.

Feed In Tariff

At Homeco, our MCS standard opens the door for school and community funding by way of grants offered by the Low Carbon Buildings Programme for public bodies and charitable organisations which allow for up to 50% grant contribution towards the installation of renewable energy systems.

Additional grants are also available for not-for-profit and community based organisations through the Community Sustainable Energy Programme.
